When I was younger, quite a while ago, I was finishing swim practice, packing my things and preparing to walk to the showers. Immediately after our practice, an adult lap swimming session was scheduled, and so, a few adults patiently waited for us age-grouper kids to exit the pool and allow them the big blue paradise. As I was removing my goggles and hopping out of my lane, an elderly woman smiled at me. I smiled back. She asked me, “Is the water cold today?” I thought about my response, and said, “Nah. It’s not so bad!” We both smiled at each other as she passed and walked up to the gutter, affixing her goggles onto her head.
